About the Partnership
With Visa a partner for the FIFA World Cup 2022, we created a Global challenge wherein employees would virtually run from the Visa HQ in San Francisco, to Doha. This included inviting partner banks from the MENA region, uniting different organisations under the Visa flag. With Saatchi-Saatchi creating the branding for a unique app look, employees were fully engaged to join in a cross-organisation goal focused on the excitement of the World Cup.
Stayf brings people together onto a customised named, branded app for a fun wellbeing experience that’s team-based and incentivised with rewards. This means that employees are visiting the space, giving opportunity for both signposting to the in-app rewards/benefits area, and also data and feedback can be extracted about user preferences.
The Challenge
Virtual journey: Visa set out to unite over 600 employees across the Middle East and Africa in a 5,000-kilometre virtual journey, overcoming geographical distances and fostering a stronger, more connected workforce.
Cross-team communication: The challenge was to create a culture of collaboration, engagement, and productivity, aligning diverse teams with shared goals despite the physical separation.
Collective resilience: This was more than just a fitness initiative—it was about building resilience, driving performance, and fostering a sense of purpose.
The Solution
Team-based: Visa’s employees from San Francisco to Doha were connected in a virtual journey that promoted collaboration, awareness, and community-building through the Stayf app.
No person left behind: The app allowed participants to log physical activities, manually or through synced fitness trackers, while offering real-time progress tracking, team rankings, and wellness resources.
Safe space: This initiative wasn’t just about physical health—it created a space for employees to unite, build resilience, and support a greater cause.
The Results
This initiative strengthened Visa’s team culture, improving connection, awareness, and performance while supporting a meaningful cause.
Engagement: 80% of participants remained active throughout the event.
Frequency: Each participant averaged four workouts per week, enhancing both physical and mental resilience.
Top performers: The five most active individuals hit the maximum number of charges, showcasing dedication.
Philanthropy: All charges were converted into donations for the Street Child United charity, blending personal fitness with a positive social impact.
